Knowing Something of Life:
The Forest

The forest is a collection of everything that has gone before it. It retains each event in its patterns of growth, its ability to adapt, and thus to flourish. Within the forest, survival is knowing and the adaptation to knowing. John Muir’s well-noted world view is that everything is connected.

The wisdom of the forest is reflected in its ability to adapt and grow over time.   Everything in life is interdependent.  Every event or person is what it is only in relation to all others.  Everything has its purpose in the universe.
