JoEllen Koerner, PhD, RN, FAAN

JoEllen Koerner, PhD, RN is one of AONE’s Past Presidents and an originating member of the Center for Nursing Leadership. JoEllen brings a wealth of executive level management/leadership experiences to her work. Her professional background is filled with a variety of experiences from healthcare administration and education to regulation in many diverse healthcare settings – hospitals, healthcare systems, ambulatory and home care are just a few. She has also worked in virtual educational curriculum modeling and delivery and has taken these skills to the international healthcare market. JoEllen is founder of the Healing Web, a collaborative education-service model that facilitates service learning in the community. Most recently, she has been working in the private business sector developing health programs for congregate living communities that include Internet applications. JoEllen is a Principal of Makoce: Whole Earth Health, an interdisciplinary, transcultural-healing community focused on integration of body, mind, spirit and environment. She is the editor of two books along with multiple articles and chapters, which focus on nursing applications for complex healthcare delivery challenges with an emphasis on leadership strategies. Finally, she is a nationally recognized speaker for nursing and faculty for the Center for Nursing Leadership.
